This hand-knotted wool area rug showcases a classic Anatolian design stemming from the Bergama region of western Turkey. Executed in a rich palette of deep indigo blue, terracotta red, and ivory, the composition features a prominent stepped geometric double-medallion centered within an open field. The layout is enclosed by a dense border showcasing traditional stylized bird or animal motifs and repeating geometric rosettes. Woven with a 100% wool pile on a wool foundation, the textile finishes with thick wrapped selvages and short hand-tied fringe along the ends. A paper label is present on the reverse corner confirming its handmade Turkish construction.
