An important and monumentally scaled antique 1882 Italian terracotta olive oil jar (orcio). Hand-fashioned at the celebrated 19th-century workshop of Borri Nazzareno in Castel Viscardo (Umbria, Italy), this imposing earthen vessel features a thick rounded rim collar over a bulbous body decorated with a hand-impressed hatched diamond geometric band. The exterior wall features a deeply incised, clear rectangular maker’s attribution panel reading: Fabbrica in Castel Viscardo di Borri Nazzareno 1882. A phenomenal testament to historical Mediterranean agricultural craftsmanship, this piece serves as a striking standalone architectural focal point for formal interiors or grand garden displays.
