Victorian Eastlake Marble Top Oval Parlor Table, Late 19th Century

Item Details

This authentic 19th-century Victorian parlor table features a heavy oval white marble top resting on a masterfully carved walnut base. The design reflects the Eastlake movement’s transition from flamboyant curves to more structured, geometric silhouettes, featuring four scrolled legs with pierced decorative cut-outs. The central axis is punctuated by a double-ended turned finial, a hallmark of high-Victorian craftsmanship. The underside displays the characteristic construction of the late 1800s, including oxidized metal fasteners and unfinished structural wood supports that have developed a deep, natural patina over more than a century.
