Thomasville Ming Style King Size Headboard, Late 20th Century

Item Details

This Thomasville Furniture Industries headboard features a distinctive Asian Modern silhouette, characterized by Ming-inspired curvilinear top rails and geometric fretwork supports. The king-size frame is constructed from high-quality hardwoods, likely pecan or fruitwood, featuring two primary decorative panels with book-matched wood veneers that highlight the natural grain. The upper section incorporates open-air rectangular apertures that lend a lightness to the substantial scale of the piece. The reverse side bears the original manufacturer’s inspector stamp and production serial numbers, confirming its provenance as a mid-to-late 20th-century American-made furniture item. Designed for functional mounting, the lower supports include factory-drilled holes currently fitted with modern hex-bolt hardware.
