Victorian Style Balloon-Back Chair and Needlepoint Footstool
Item Details
This ensemble features a late-Victorian balloon back side chair and a coordinating needlepoint footstool. The chair is characterized by its rounded, open-back frame containing two decoratively turned spindles and a low-profile upholstered seat covered in a dark geometric floral fabric. The accompanying footstool features a detailed floral needlepoint top in muted greens and pinks, supported by a frame with a deep-relief foliate carved apron and four cabriole legs. Both pieces exhibit a rich, aged patina and represent the domestic Rococo Revival styles popular at the turn of the century.
