This mahogany tea table features a classic Chippendale Revival design with a ‘pie crust’ scalloped top. The top is supported by a carved pedestal featuring a central urn motif adorned with acanthus leaves. The table stands on a tripod base with three cabriole legs terminating in vigorous ball-and-claw feet. While emulating high-style 18th-century English and American forms, the underside reveals 20th-century production characteristics, including a top composed of several joined boards. Hand-written inventory markings on the underside suggest past inclusion in a commercial or estate collection.
