This authentic Persian Baluch rug features a characteristically dark and moody palette, typical of tribal weavings from eastern Iran. The field is composed of alternating rows of geometric octagonal medallions and elongated cruciform motifs, rendered in deep indigo, mahogany, and burnt orange against a rich madder-red ground. Distinctive horizontal color variations, known as abrash, are visible throughout the field, indicating the use of different dye lots of hand-spun wool. The textile is framed by a stylized geometric border and finished with hand-overcast edges in dark wool. The visible structural details on the reverse show a high-tension, hand-knotted weave on a wool foundation, hallmarks of traditional Persian Baluch craftsmanship.
