This solid rock maple chest on chest by Kilgour of Beauharnois, Quebec, is a robust example of mid-20th-century Colonial Revival craftsmanship. The piece features a distinct two-part design, with the upper case uniquely styled with twelve small drawer fronts that operate as full-width storage compartments. The lower case houses three graduated large drawers accented by traditional batwing brass-style hardware. Finished in a warm ‘Cinnamon’ stain, the unit is supported by sturdy bracket feet with a decoratively scrolled apron. The interior drawers exhibit clean machine dovetail joinery, and the original manufacturer’s brand provides clear provenance for this Quebec-made heritage piece.
