This Spanish Neoclassical style commode features a demilune silhouette constructed with mahogany veneers and multi-colored floral marquetry. The facade is divided into three panels, with the central cupboard door and flanking sides decorated with inlaid floral sprays framed by brass stringing. A white and grey veined marble top sits above a brass frieze depicting a continuous ribbon-and-wreath motif. The cabinet is supported by four slender cabriole legs terminating in brass sabots and embellished with foliate ormolu-style mounts at the knees. The interior reveals a single wooden shelf, and the reverse of the piece bears a pinned metal tag reading ‘MADE IN SPAIN.’
