Empire Revival Wooden "Faces" Shaped Pedestal, 20th Century
Item Details
This Empire Revival style pedestal is crafted from mahogany with a deep, dark-stained finish. The piece features a square tray-style top embellished with a carved egg-and-dart motif along the apron. The central shaft is designed in the form of a Roman fasces, consisting of a bundle of cylindrical rods bound by two thick bands. The structure is supported by a tripod base with splayed, incurved legs joined at a central turned post. This pedestal serves as a sophisticated architectural element for the display of sculpture, greenery, or lighting in a formal interior.
