The cabinet is finished in a warm walnut veneer, notably featuring a decorative parquetry ‘checkerboard’ pattern on the single faux-drawer front, accented by a minimalist brass bar pull. The piece is supported by four sleek, tapered conical legs characteristic of the era, each terminating in brass-toned ferrules. Housed within the cabinet is a ‘Universal Deluxe Family’ sewing machine, a high-quality Japanese import of the post-war period.
