Item Details

A Dexter Fine Furniture, Grand Rapids Chair Company dining table, in the manner of Duncan Phyfe. It was registered and built by a select few who were part of a specially certified Grand Rapids Furniture Maker’s Guild. This mahogany table seats fourteen comfortably when the six leaves are installed, at 42′ × 160.′ Without the leaves, this table is 42′ × 68,’ with each leaf 13’ wide. This table has a beautiful multi-legged base, where the two far legs slide as the table is extended. Each pedestal leg is finished with bronze caps and casters. The table smoothly opens with a roller bearing slide by ‘Perfection Table Slide Manufacturing Co, Watertown, Wisconsin.’ The table includes eight shield-back chairs, one of which is an armchair, with square, tapered legs, on spade feet. Two of the chairs are not original to the table, but so closely match, that few could spot the difference. The table has a full set of pads for protection.

Condition

A few light scratches on surface. Normal for age. Six chair seats show some staining.
