American Late Victorian Oak Sideboard, Late 19th/Early 20th Century

Item Details

This late 19th/ early 20th century American oak washstand is a prime example of the industrial transition in Victorian cabinetry. The piece features a highly functional configuration of two small upper drawers and one long central drawer positioned above a double-door storage cabinet. The chest is further distinguished by its ornate pressed-brass hardware in the Eastlake taste and robust carved lion paw feet resting on original wooden casters. While the original mirrored superstructure is absent, the chest retains its sturdy structural integrity and rich, quartersawn grain, making it an excellent candidate for use as a foyer cabinet or bathroom vanity.
