Regency Style Demilune Breakfront Commode, Late 20th Century
Item Details
This sophisticated demilune commode is an example of late 20th-century Regency Revival cabinetry, defined by its architectural breakfront silhouette and warm fruitwood finish. The cabinet features a distinctive half-moon form with a central projecting section, housing two convex doors organized into three tiers of recessed rectangular paneling. The center is anchored by a large, square etched brass plate with a traditional pin-latch mechanism, providing a strong focal point against the figured wood grain. Stationary curved panels flank the central cabinet, all resting upon a substantial, multi-tiered molded plinth base. This piece offers a refined storage solution for a formal entry or gallery, emphasizing the geometric symmetry and clean lines of the Regency period
