Federal Style Acorn-Top Rope Bed and Nightstand, Early 20th Century
Item Details
This early 20th-century Colonial Revival bedroom set, crafted from solid maple, includes a classic four-poster "rope" bed and a coordinating single-drawer nightstand. The bed is defined by its four turned posts topped with iconic acorn finials, framing a headboard and footboard with matching scrolled crest rails. Authentic to its 19th-century inspirations, the side rails retain the original peg system used to tension a rope foundation. The matching nightstand features a single drawer with a traditional brass batwing pull and stands on turned legs that echo the architectural vocabulary of the bed posts. Finished in a warm amber stain that highlights the natural maple grain, this set represents the durable and nostalgic "Early American" craftsmanship popularized during the first half of the 20th century.
