Artwork is accompanied by a folder containing a leaflet with both the artist bio and artist statement about the piece.

The West Virginia Legislature passed a law requiring all Waterfowl hunters to purchase a ‘duck’ stamp begging with the 1987 hunting season. The funds from the sale of the stamps and print royalties would then be used for maintenance and conservation of their habitats. This was the first image and stamp for West Virginia’s conservation efforts, but Smith’s sixth time he would be selected to paint a conservation image.

Condition

- small scratches on top edge of frame; scuff marks along right edge of frame; peeling to backing paper; stamp is jostled in frame.
