Jacobean Revival Carved Trestle Console Table, Mid-20th Century

Item Details

This Jacobean Revival console table, dating from the mid-20th century, features a robust trestle-base construction in a dark-stained finish. The rectangular top is accented with a gentle outward bow at the ends and a multi-tiered beveled edge. It is supported by two substantial pedestal legs, each uniquely designed with a central square block featuring a deeply carved sunflower or rosette medallion. These pilaster-style supports transition into turned baluster sections and are joined by a low-profile rectangular stretcher for increased stability. The table stands on splayed trestle feet, which are finished with vertical fluted carvings that echo the classical architectural influences of the Tudor period. This piece represents the durable craftsmanship of American revival furniture, designed for use in entryways or behind seating.
