Duncan Phyfe Mahogany Drum Table with Tooled Leather Top

Item Details

This 20th-century drum table is a classic example of the Duncan Phyfe style, a mid-century revival of 19th-century Regency aesthetics. The circular mahogany top is inset with an aged, dark leather surface accented by a decorative gilt-tooled border. The apron is configured with one working drawer featuring a brass bail pull, flanked by faux drawer fronts for a symmetrical ‘drum’ appearance. The table is supported by a ring-turned central column and a tripod base of reeded saber legs—a hallmark of Duncan Phyfe’s design language—terminating in traditional brass-capped casters. While exhibiting honest wear consistent with age, this piece serves as a prominent example of Federal-era inspired American cabinetry.
