Avner Zabari "Face" Anthropomorphic Wall Cabinet, Late 20th Century

Item Details

This limited-edition wall cabinet by Avner Zabari is a prime example of the artist’s ‘Face’ series, which utilizes anthropomorphic forms to create functional art. The cabinet is constructed from multi-layered wood, expertly shaped and hand-painted in a warm, gradient sunset palette. The facade depicts a stylized human face, where the ‘cheeks’ serve as double-hinged doors that open to reveal a tiered shelving system. Whimsical details include inset three-dimensional eyes, a miniature ‘Sun and Moon’ illustration on the cheek, and suspended wooden ‘earrings.’ Marked #24 of only 50 produced, this postmodern sculpture serves as a vibrant focal point for contemporary interiors, embodying the playful spirit of the Miami art furniture movement.
