American Golden Oak Washstand with Lyre-Back Circa 1900

Item Details

This American Golden Oak washstand features a distinct lyre-back assembly and dates to approximately 1900. The upper portion consists of a pivoting curved lyre-shaped frame (no mirror) topped with a carved foliate crest and a horizontal towel bar. The base includes a serpentine-front top over a full-width upper drawer, balanced by two stacked drawers on the left and a single cupboard door on the right. Constructed primarily from quartersawn oak, the piece stands on four bracket feet featuring carved acanthus leaf detailing. The interior of the cupboard door and the internal storage area exhibit a non-original sage green painted finish.
