Pair of Chromcraft Postmodern Style Swivel Barstools, 1975
Item Details
This pair of swivel bar stools was manufactured by the Chromcraft Corporation in November 1975, as evidenced by the original manufacturer’s labels. The stools feature a distinctive Mid-Century Modern silhouette with cream-colored vinyl upholstery on a channel-tufted back and cushioned seat. The structural frame consists of cream powder-coated steel tubing, integrating a circular footrest and a four-star pedestal base. Decorative and functional oak wood accents are applied to the armrests and as inserts within the metal base legs. These stools provide a full 360-degree swivel capability and retain their original space-age aesthetic. Minor surface wear, including abrasions to the powder coating and age-related character marks on the wooden components, is present, reflecting 50 years of domestic use.
