The ‘Porter’ side table, designed by the German studio Speziell for Studio Domo, is an award-winning example of contemporary functional minimalism. The piece consists of a removable, vibrant red ABS plastic tray secured to a sleek, C-shaped chrome-plated steel wire base. A central metal bracket serves both as a structural anchor for the tray and a practical carrying handle, allowing for easy mobility. This modular design earned the iF Product Design Gold Award in 2009 for its innovative approach to flexible domestic living. The underside of the tray features the manufacturer’s embossed branding and designer attribution. This example remains in good structural condition, exhibiting minor surface scuffs on the plastic tray and light age-appropriate wear to the chrome finish.
