Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Buffet

Item Details

This Jacobean Style Carved Oak Buffet Sideboard features a rectangular top with a low gallery splashback over a long case with six storage compartments. The upper register consists of four drawers decorated with carved arcaded moldings and fitted with brass teardrop and ring pulls. Below, two central drawers with raised diamond-lozenge carvings are flanked by two cupboard doors featuring circular carved bosses. The unit is supported by six turned and blocked legs joined by a perimeter box stretcher. Visual evidence of construction, including machine-cut dovetails and uniform secondary wood panels, identifies this as a 20th-century revival piece. This oak sideboard serves as a functional storage solution for dining rooms and remains a staple of American Tudor and Jacobean Revival interior design.
