Seven Piece Mid Century Modern Dining Set with Lenoir Chair Company Chairs
Item Details
This seven-piece Mid Century Modern dining suite was manufactured by the Lenoir Chair Company in Lenoir, North Carolina, during the 1960s. The set comprises a rectangular dining table with a walnut-veneered top and six high-back dining chairs, including two armchairs and four side chairs. Each chair features a distinct architectural backrest with a central inset of woven cane shaped in a tapering lancet form. The seating surfaces are upholstered in a period-appropriate mustard-yellow patterned fabric, supported by a mix of blended cotton batting and polyurethane foam as evidenced by the original manufacturer law tag. The table and chairs are supported by slender, tapered square-to-round legs, characteristic of the American modernism movement of the mid-20th century.
