Pair of Grand Tour Style "Borghese" Terracotta Urns
Item Details
A pair of large terracotta urns in the Borghese or Campana form. Each urn features a deep frieze depicting a classical procession of figures in high relief, including draped deities and mythological subjects. The lower body is decorated with lush acanthus leaves, leading to a fluted stem on a square plinth base. The urns are flanked by twin loop handles terminating in satyr masks. The material is a high-fired terracotta with a natural reddish-orange hue, exhibiting typical casting seams consistent with traditional manufacturing techniques.
