This Karastan area rug is part of the iconic ‘Original Collection,’ featuring the ‘Black Kashan’ pattern (Design No. 716). Woven in the USA from 100% premium worsted wool, the rug displays a dense, floral palmette and scrolling vine ‘Shah Abbas’ design across a deep raven-black field. The composition is enclosed by a wide ivory-ground primary border with secondary guards in terracotta and cerulean blue. Known for their durability and high-quality machine construction that mimics the look and feel of hand-knotted Persian rugs, this specimen retains its original manufacturer and retail labels.
