2'10 x 9'11 Hand-Knotted Persian Baluch Carpet Runner
Item Details
This semi-antique Persian Baluch runner features a classic tribal composition of repeating geometric medallions on a saturated madder-red field. The motifs are executed in deep indigo and charcoal tones, accented with small hits of ivory that provide a rhythmic ‘eye-trap’ across the long field. Hand-knotted by nomadic weavers of the Khorasan region, the rug exhibits the traditional supple handle and dark-corded selvedges typical of Baluch craftsmanship. The natural variations in dye and the authentic wear patterns across the low wool pile imbue the piece with a distinct rustic character and historical depth.
