Louis XVI Style Carved Wood and Needlepoint Long Ottoman, Early to Mid-20th C.
Item Details
This elegant long ottoman is a classic example of Louis XVI Revival craftsmanship from the mid-20th century. Supported by a six-leg frame to accommodate its elongated form, the bench features finely fluted and tapered legs typical of the Neoclassical period. Each leg is topped with a hand-carved rosette block, joining an apron decorated with a continuous band of carved bead molding. The crowning feature is the hand-stitched needlepoint seat, depicting a lush spray of roses and blossoms in soft pinks, rusts, and sage greens against a neutral cream background. Finished with a decorative gimp trim and brass tacks, this piece offers a sophisticated, textural accent for traditional interior spaces.
