4'3 x 7' Hand-Knotted Turkish Oushak Area Rug
Item Details
This hand-knotted Oushak style area rug, crafted in Turkey during the late 20th century, features a 100% wool construction. The design is centered around a large, multi-tiered medallion in contrasting ivory and charcoal grey, set against a vibrant rose-pink field. The field is further decorated with primitive floral and scrolling vine motifs in mustard yellow and muted pink. A broad primary border contains a repeating series of stylized floral rosettes in orange and rose, framed by thin geometric guard bands. Measuring 4 feet by 7 feet, the rug displays a low-clipped pile and the characteristic color variations (abrash) of Anatolian village textiles. A label on the reverse documents the material and handmade Turkish origin.
