2'10 x 9'3 Hand-Knotted Turkish Anatolian Style Long Rug
Item Details
This vibrant Turkish Anatolian runner is a high-texture, mixed-media textile produced in the late 20th century. The design features a sequential arrangement of eight serrated diamond medallions, each rendered in a distinct color—including violet, crimson, and azure—against a dense black field. The borders are decorated with a repeating floral/rosette motif on a red ground. Uniquely, the weaver incorporated shimmering metallic Lurex threads throughout the medallions, adding a contemporary ‘sparkle’ to the traditional tribal geometry. Measuring approximately 2′ × 9′, the rug features a thick, hand-looped pile and rustic hand-finished edges, making it a standout ‘maximalist’ piece for modern eclectic interiors.
