2'11 x 10'9 Hand-Knotted Turkish Konya-Style Geometric Long Rug
Item Details
This hand-knotted Turkish runner dates to the late 20th century and features a bold geometric design rooted in the weaving traditions of Konya, Central Anatolia. The composition is defined by three monumental, elongated lozenge medallions set against a vibrant madder orange field. Each medallion is filled with traditional tribal symbols, including geometric rosettes and protective latch-hooks. The field is framed by a ‘Greek Key’ meander border in ivory and brown, a classic Anatolian motif. Woven entirely of wool, the runner has been sheared to a low profile, emphasizing the graphic nature of its tribal patterns. Measuring approximately 3′ × 11′, the piece retains its original manufacturer’s label, confirming its handmade Turkish origin.
