Queen Anne Tiger Maple Highboy, 18th Century
Item Details
This Queen Anne style highboy is a fine example of 20th-century Colonial Revival cabinetry, constructed from striking figured tiger maple. The piece is designed in two sections: an upper chest featuring five graduated long drawers topped by a substantial cove-molded cornice, and a lower stand with two additional drawers. The base is distinguished by a deeply scalloped apron and is elevated on elegant cabriole legs ending in traditional pad feet. Authentic decorative touches include period-correct batwing brass hardware and dovetail drawer construction. The rich grain of the tiger maple is enhanced by a lustrous amber finish, providing a sophisticated architectural presence for a bedroom or living area.
