Carved Mahogany Corner Chair
Item Details
This Chippendale style mahogany corner chair is a mid-20th-century interpretation of an iconic 18th-century form. Designed to be placed in the corner of a room, the chair features a continuous curved crest rail over two decorative pierced splats exhibiting characteristic interlaced scrollwork. The frame is supported by three turned uprights and stands on four square legs stabilized by a cross-stretcher. The drop-in seat is upholstered in a red floral damask. While the design motifs are traditionally Colonial, the construction materials—including a plywood seat support—identify this as a high-quality reproduction intended for residential use.
