Brutalist Hand-Wrought Iron Rebar Pedestal

Item Details

This Brutalist-inspired plant stand is a unique example of late 20th-century studio metalwork, utilizing industrial rebar to create a sculptural tripod form. The three main supports converge at a central point and splay outward to form a stable base, with the upper sections flared to hold a hand-welded concentric spiral top. Decorative wire coils are wrapped around the legs, simulating an organic vine-like appearance that contrasts with the rigid, ridged texture of the construction-grade steel. The raw, oxidized iron finish provides a deep, earth-toned patina that highlights the rugged, ‘outsider art’ character of the piece. This pedestal serves as both a functional plant support and a stand-alone industrial sculpture.
