Jacobean Revival Oak Buffet, Late 19th to Early 20th Century
Item Details
This early 20th-century Jacobean Revival sideboard is constructed primarily of oak with decorative walnut burl veneer door panels. The rectangular top features a small gallery back and rests over a four-compartment body comprising two central drawers flanked by two cabinet doors with distinct arched moldings. The upper drawer is centered with a high-relief carved foliate cartouche, while the lower apron displays a geometric fretwork pattern common in Tudor and Jacobean styles. It is supported by four robust fluted cup-and-trumpet front legs terminating in bun feet, stabilized by a low box stretcher. Interior drawers exhibit consistent machine-cut dovetail joints and secondary pine construction.
