Jacobean Revival Oak Cabinet, Late 19th to Early 20th Century
Item Details
This early 20th-century Jacobean Revival cabinet is constructed of oak with distinctive walnut burl veneer door panels. The two-tier design features an upper hutch centered by a cabinet with a carved arched door, flanked by robustly turned bulbous columns characteristic of the Tudor and Jacobean styles. The lower buffet portion contains a single long drawer centered with a high-relief carved foliate cartouche over two recessed-panel cabinet doors. It is supported by turned legs terminating in traditional bun feet. The interior reveals a combination of hand-cut dovetail joinery and machine-milled secondary wood construction typical of high-quality 1920s factory production.
