Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Buffet

Item Details

This early 20th-century Jacobean Revival server is constructed of oak with highly figured burl walnut veneer paneling. The rectangular top features a low gallery back and rests above a single long drawer decorated with carved repetitive motifs. The lower section comprises a central cabinet door enriched with high-relief strapwork and foliate carvings, flanked by two fixed recessed burl panels. The piece is supported by substantial turned bulbous legs characteristic of the period, connected by a low box stretcher for structural integrity. The interior reveals machine-cut dovetail joinery and secondary wood construction typical of 1920s factory production.
