This slant-front bureau desk was manufactured by the prominent Washington, D.C. firm W.B. Moses & Sons. Designed in the Colonial Revival style, the desk features a fall-front writing surface that opens to reveal a multi-compartment interior with arched pigeonholes and a single central drawer. The lower case contains two full-width drawers with traditional brass batwing hardware, all supported by elegant cabriole legs. The piece retains its original manufacturer’s metal tag on the reverse, serving as a testament to early 20th- century American cabinetmaking from a noted capital city retailer.
