Item Details
This Chinese polychrome painted lacquer sideboard features a rectangular top over a central two-door cupboard and three aligned lower drawers. The facade is decorated with hand-painted iconography including a large red vase containing peonies, flanked by citrus fruit and scholar’s objects on a burnt-orange ground. The frame and drawer fronts are finished in a dark lacquer embellished with trailing floral motifs. The piece retains its original-style circular brass ring pulls and sits on straight legs with a simple apron. Significant natural distressing and pigment separation are visible throughout the primary panels.
