This high-quality Mid Century Modern executive desk is a prime example of 1960s Danish design, crafted from richly figured rosewood. The desk features a spacious rectangular top above two suspended pedestals, creating an elegant ‘floating’ appearance characteristic of the era. Each pedestal houses two drawers featuring fine dovetail joinery and original polished aluminum bow-tie pulls. The desk is fully finished on all sides, boasting a striking book-matched rosewood modesty panel, allowing it to be placed in the center of a room. Supported by elegant tapered solid wood legs, the piece retains its original green felt drawer linings. While the top surface shows significant patina from use, the structural integrity and rare wood species make this a significant restoration candidate.
