"Easy Living" Hand-Painted Folk Art Rocking Chair, 2011
Item Details
This vibrant folk art rocking chair, titled ‘Easy Living,’ was hand-painted by Kentucky artist Barbara Kelsch in August 2011. The chair features a traditional slat-back and contoured slat-seat design, entirely transformed by a whimsical, multi-tonal green wash. The decoration includes meticulously hand-painted irises on the front posts, trailing vines along the stretchers, and various botanical and fruit motifs on the armrests and back slats. The seat prominently displays the words ‘EASY LIVING’ in black block lettering, while the rear lower rail is accented with charming hedgehog figures. A commemorative metal plaque on the reverse identifies the piece as part of a 2011 project for the Pro Seniors organization, sponsored by Janet E. Pecquet, Esq.
