American Mission Style Child's Slatted Rocking Chair, Early 20th Century

Item Details

This American Mission style child’s rocking chair is constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish. The design features a four-slat vertical backrest framed by square posts that transition into curved rockers. The flat armrests are supported by square spindles and secured with visible hardware. The seat is composed of five horizontal slats. Construction details include exposed flat-head screws and wooden plugs, typical of the utilitarian Arts & Crafts aesthetic. The underside reveals the natural grain of the oak and the structural bracing used to secure the seat to the frame.
