Quality Furniture Co. Hepplewhite Revival Style Mahogany Chifferobe
Item Details
This early 20th-century American chiffarobe was manufactured by the Quality Furniture Co. of Evansville, Indiana, a prolific furniture hub during the pre-war era. The piece is constructed with rich mahogany veneers and features a decorative frieze of carved rosettes along the top edge. The upper section contains two side-by-side drawers with intricate beaded borders and carved rosettes, while the lower section consists of two large paneled doors that open to reveal a versatile interior. The left side is fitted with four deep storage drawers with brass-tone pulls, and the right side features an open compartment with an original metal hanging rod and tie rack. The unit is supported by elegant cabriole legs, showcasing a blend of French Provincial and traditional American revival styles. Evidence of quality craftsmanship is visible in the precise dovetail joinery of the drawer boxes and the original manufacturer’s label remaining on the reverse.
