Eastlake Carved Walnut Center Table with Marble Top, 19th Century

Item Details

This late 19th-century Eastlake parlor table features a white marble top with clipped corners and a bullnose edge. The walnut frame is characterized by an apron featuring book-matched burl walnut veneers and shallow incised carvings. The pedestal base consists of four legs with scrolled profiles decorated with linear incisions, meeting at a central hub with a turned drop finial. The piece is supported by metal and ceramic casters. This table exemplifies the Eastlake style through its emphasis on geometric patterns and the use of incised rather than high-relief carving.
