This Neoclassical style mahogany coffee table features a rectangular top decorated with a large central painted medallion and delicate floral scrollwork in the marquetry taste. The painted wood surface is protected by an inset glass top. The table is constructed with a mahogany frame and an apron that contains two functional lateral drawers, each fitted with a small brass knob. Decorative gilt metal rosettes are applied to the corner blocks above four fluted, square-tapering legs. Measuring 20.5 inches in height, this piece is designed for use in a lounge or living area. The combination of dark mahogany and polychrome painted accents reflects mid-20th-century revivalist trends in American furniture manufacturing.
