A vintage Tennessee Red Cedar hope chest manufactured by the Caswell-Runyan Company of Huntington, Indiana. The exterior features a dark stained finish with Jacobean Revival influences, including two carved recessed panels with stylized fleur-de-lis overlays, split-spindle turnings, and a scalloped apron. The unit is supported by four turned bun feet. The interior is lined with natural aromatic Tennessee red cedar and retains the original manufacturer’s paper label.
