A Large Shallow Rookwood Bowl by Charles Todd, Circa 1917
Item Details
A large, shallow Rookwood bowl signed to the bottom with the initials of Charles Stewart Todd. The wide mouth bowl is finished in a dark glaze with an incised pattern at the folded inward lip. The Rookwood flame insignia is on the bottom with the date ‘XVII’ (1917) and the mold number 2178 B. There had been three holes drilled in the bottom of the bowl long age, most likely for plant drainage, and they were expertly repaired by Wiebold Studio, Inc. in 2010.
