A lot comprised of John Ruthven’s ‘Kit Fox’ signed and numbered lithograph. The mother fox guards two cubs in a woodland setting. The lithograph is numbered 274/500 with the artist’s pencil signature in the lower right corner. A Closson’s sticker at the back suggests the image was professionally framed under glass in a rustic wood frame. Ruthven (1927) born in Cincinnati, studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and became referred to as ‘The 20th Century Audubon’ due to the fact that he researched his subject thoroughly then masterfully depicted wildlife in great and exact detail.
