Sallie Toohey Designed Rookwood Pottery Dutch Bookends, 1928
Item Details
A charming Rookwood Dutch boy and girl bookends, signed at the bottom by Sallie Toohey and appropriately stamped with the date XXVIII (1928) and the mold number 6022. A Dutch boy and girl are leaning atop a brick wall with tulips at the base and they are finished in soft matte glazes. Toohey was a master glazer employed with Rookwood from 1887-1931. She created many designs and was in charge of the glaze room for the vase department.
