3'4 x 9'5 Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Long Rug

Item Details

A Northwest Persian runner, attributed to the Karaja region. The rug features a madder red field centered by a column of three geometric medallions; the top and bottom medallions utilize a latch-hooked diamond design, flanking a central stepped hexagonal medallion. The field is decorated with scattered geometric fillers and stylized bird motifs. The composition is framed by an ivory ground main border containing a repeating geometric rosette and leaf (‘crab’) pattern, flanked by narrow geometric guard borders. Colors include madder red, ivory, navy blue, salmon, and brown.
